3D shapes: Designing 3D shapes

During class today everyone was given a project, and that was to visit this site given to us by our teacher and to design 3D shapes. So I started of with something simple, a cube and then I decided to get more complicated. As I was moving on with each object I decided to make a wrench. The complexity of making a wrench was very difficult because I had to use several objects just to make one simple tool. In the end it did turn out well “I think” but I am still happy with my result.

Today was our last day of technology so we made something really special. We made chocolate truffles and it was delicious. During the process our hands did get dirty but seeing the end product was just magical. In the end we managed to make these delicious chocolate truffles.

I would also like to say Thank you to Mrs Heka for teaching us life skills.

Tuakana Prototec 17/11/2017

Today I completed a task my teacher gave to me today. In this game I had to answer all the questions within a given time. It was all mixed with multiplication, division, fractions and other math sequences. Lucky for me I was able to get 39 questions right out of 40 and got a score of 97% out of 100%. I am happy with my score because this test was challenging but it did really help me out a lot.

What are fractions

Today in class I was given a task to do and that was to make a presentation about any topic in maths like fractions, subtraction and so many more. Out of all those I chose to do fractions because not much people around the world know what fractions are so I decided to share my learning with the people around me by doing this.

Being cyber smart

Cyber smart
Being cyber smart is sometimes a hard thing to do but it is also a safe thing because it keeps you out of contact with any kidnappers. If you are cyber smart then you would never share out any personal things about you or to make sure you post the correct thing. If you are cyber smart then nothing bad could ever happen to you online and in reality. Here is a story board of cybersmart

Read theory: Classical and Jazz

Tuakana Read theory 06/11/2017

In my class I managed to finish this activity given to me by my teacher. I could say that it wasn’t easy because of all the questions they are asking. Sometimes it would be easy ones but most of the times it’s hard. Because there were a lot of unknown words in it I wasn't able to figure out what the question was telling me. In the end I did learn a lot from this activity and hopefully you will too.

Read theory: Floating Bridges

Tuakana Read theory 06/11/2017

Today I completed this activity given by  my teacher. The idea of this activity is to be able to relate to what the author is trying to say in the text and when you are given the questions. It is hard to answer most of them although when I read the text over and over again I am able to get a clear imagine of what my answer would be. In the end this game could help a lot of other people and maybe one day you.

Chemical and Physical changes

Tuakana Chemical and physical changes 06/11/2017

What are physical changes ?
This is changes when you are able to reverse what has been done.

Example:
As you can see there is water inside a cup and ice on the other side. This is basically a physical change because when you freeze water it turns into ice and when you unfreeze ice it turns back into water, that is how you know that it is a physical change.

Facts about physical changes ?
  • It is reversible
  • The changes are only physical
  • This does not need light or fire in this

What are chemical changes ?
Chemical changes is when it is not reversible

Example:
As you can see there is a paper getting burnt. Apparently when a paper is burnt it turns into ash and that is it, because it cannot go back into paper then you know it is a chemical change.

Facts about chemical changes ?
  • It isn’t reversible
  • This produces light, smoke, gas and so on
  • There are usually one or more new substances formed or created from that change
  • Chemical changes happen everyday
  • There are different kinds of chemical changes

For me it wasn’t really hard but I still managed to work through it along the way. In the end this is a really good activity for you if you want to learn about variables.

Writing a Descriptive paragraph

Tuakana Descriptive paragraph 01/11/2017

WALT - write a descriptive paragraph of a monster

At night times all you could hear was the sound of a old smelly monster eating the flesh of human bodies and their screams. Trails of bloods would be dripping on the ground and slimy goe would be leading to a pit every time.  Usually if a meal wasn’t given to him, he would take it himself at night times. That’s when everyone locks their doors, shut their windows and make sure that everyone is inside the house before dawn. Nobody has ever seen him but there are rumors of him being grumpy, ugly and always smelt like dead rat. But if someone ever see’s him, they’d get killed to keep his secret.

How would I want to be remembered ? I have been asked this question so many times but never did have the right answer. I am soon going to be a yr 9 student and still I have no legacy to leave behind. Well remember when I said that I never really had the right answer, well now I do and I am willing to share with you, how I would like to be remembered by ?

Have you ever had this weird feeling that tingles in your body when you are about to compete in a competition. Well I have many times, that means I am getting ready and sometimes nervous but I have never let that feeling take over my whole body. Being competitive is one of them. If I like playing sports and love competing with other people then I surely know that I am a really competitive person.

Secondly I would also like to be remembered by as a confident person, who is able to speak in front of a large crowds and who doesn’t let fear overcome them. I have been able to do this many times by standing up in front of people and saying a speech to others has made a huge progress throughout the years. As well as doing performances in front of a lot of people has pushed me to become a more confident person.

I would also like to be remembered by as a really funny person. I don’t think that I’m funny I know I am funny, making people laugh is my specialty. Even if they cry I will still be able to make them laugh or even if their angry well 2 seconds later they will be laughing thanks to me. I can be really tough to handle but in the end there will always be a smile thanks to me again.

Last but not least I would like to be known as a really smart person, who is able to get  high scores in all subjects and who is able to excel consistently. I know there are still some more areas I have to work on but I sure do know that I am try my hardest.

Finally I would like to be remembered by as a independent person. As in I am able to do things in my own abilities without being told. If I become more independent then I know I will be trustworthy person.

When I leave glen Innes School I will be proud if I am remembered by all of these things because hopefully I inspire people to be like me.
